I9th August 2006
Chief Inspector Simon Prince and a small team of officers from Enfield Police have decided to try their hand (well feet really) at an event called the Snowdonian 7. This event is an inter-police fell-running competition held in North Wales every year.
“Covering 21 miles over seven of North Wales most challenging mountains this event is not for the feint hearted. In total we will descend and ascend over 8000 feet. Failure to reach the first checkpoint within three hours and twenty minutes results in disqualification, this means we will have to run up and down Snowdon! Last year’s winners completed the course in under six hours. Just to finish will be an achievement.
Initially we intended to raise some money for CRY, the charity supported by Kevin Luxford following the tragic and untimely death of his son John. However Kevin has suggested that Jack’s fund raising appeal might be more urgent at this time.
So please support us in our efforts. Anything you can give will make a difference to Jack”.
The JBA would like to express its deepest gratitude to the officers taking part and Kevin Luxford for his support. If you would like to sponsor the officers please contact David at the 2Simple Trust.
The Officers taking part are:
Simon Prince (SMT)
Steve Dymond (BSU)
John Mercer (Safer Neighbourhoods)
Tom Perry (BSU)
Jon Weller (BSU)
Don McMillan (Safer Schools)
Matt Gee (Team 4)
Jim Melton (Team 1)
Emma Williams (BSU)
Colin James (CID)
Gary Williams
Matt Dartnell (CID)
